What this service covers
Masonry and mortar joints
Weathered mortar joints and damaged chimney masonry can let water into the stack and adjoining roof. We inspect the pointing, brickwork, pots and accessible roof junction before explaining whether repairs or repointing are appropriate.
Repairs and repointing
Repointing addresses defective mortar joints; it is different from rendering the outside or rebuilding a damaged stack. The quotation defines the areas to be repaired and any associated work to flashing or the chimney top.

Is repointing the same as rendering?
No. Repointing renews defective mortar between bricks or stones. Rendering is a coating over the outside of the stack and is assessed separately.
